“IT AIN’T OVER TIL IT’S OVER” – Yogi Berra

COVID19 in its various forms is still all around us! And until we’re all protected, it’s bound to stay that way! Protection comes in many forms: getting vaccinated, surviving a recent COVID infection, social distancing, hand washing, masking indoors. The most effective ways are the first two measures: vaccination and surviving an infection. But vaccination, with or without an infection, results in fewer deaths, fewer hospitalizations, and a lot fewer days feeling rotten, missing school, missing work, losing money. Tackling this infection by ‘being vaccinated’ means a primary series of two shots, and a booster shot five months later. So, here’s what’s being offered right in our neighborhood:

3:00 – 6:00 PM, This Friday 28 January at the West Fairlee Town Offices, **870

VT Route 113 (across the road from the West Fairlee Volunteer Fire Department).

FREE, NO PRE-REGISTRATION! (Bring your COVID Vaccination Card, *but if you

can’t find your card, come anyway!!)

Proposal for Refinishing Main Hall Floor

The Vershire Town Center Committee is seeking bids/proposals for refinishing the floor in the main hall in the Center Building.  So far, they have reached out to Valley Floors in Bradford for an estimate and will be looking at a number of other services for comparable quotes and will present their findings to the Vershire Selectboard for their review.  It may be the voters who will ultimately decide if they would like to proceed with this work when next we meet at Town Meeting.

Highway Department is Back to Three Trucks!

The Vershire Highway Department had been using a borrowed plow truck from the State of Vermont until it could repair one of ours.  Our truck that needed computer parts has been repaired but is still being checked out to be sure there are no lingering issues.  Vershire has an exceptional and dedicated highway crew and they work hard everyday to keep the roads in Vershire safe for you to travel.

Town Center Playground Gets Facelift

Thank you to everyone who came out to help spread wood chips at the Town Center Building playground on Satuday July 24th.  With two tractors and thirteen volunteers we were able to quickly get the work done.  The playground is now ready for kids to enjoy.
