Selectboard Minutes - January 29, 2009



SELECTBOARD MEETING
JANUARY 29, 2009

Present: Vern Stone, John LaPierre, Dana Baltz
Guests: Naomi LaBarr, Debra Kingsbury, Gene Craft

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

The Selectboard reviewed the warnings for the 2009 Town Meeting. Naomi handed out the budget numbers and asked questions about items on which she needed clarification. She said the road crew deserved recognition for keeping their overtime hours down.

Naomi recommends the town purchase 4 of the NEMRC programs available through VT League of Cities and Towns (VLCT). These programs are: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and the General Ledger. Naomi feels having these computer programs will help the new clerk/treasurer. Each program costs $1,795 which totals $7,200.

Naomi reviewed the 'anticipated income' figures for Current Use, Town Permits, Copier fees, License fees, Interest and Solid Waste. The miscellaneous category includes capital credits and the $330 check from VLCT as a wellness reward.

Article 9 was reviewed and the wording seemed unclear. Gene Craft reworded the article to make it clearer.

Vern moved to approve the warnings as written. John seconded and all were in favor. Vern and John signed the warning.

Naomi reported that Marc wrote the Selectboard report for the annual report.

Naomi plans to send the annual report to the printer on 1/30/09.

John moved to adjourn at 9:05 pm. Vern seconded and all were in favor.
