Selectboard Meeting Minutes
March 3, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Richard L. Johnson, Vern Stone, Sydney Veysey
Bob Hodge, Naomi LaBarr
The Selectboard reviewed a map of the town that Markus Bradley had worked up showing the 1877 Beers map of Vershire with an overlay of the current town roads that are on file with the Agency of Transportation. The Selectboard will ask the Conservation Commission to come to a Selectboard meeting for an ancient road review.
Some questions from the Information Meeting on Sunday were reviewed. The following was noted:
a.. It was noted that the expenses and labor on the new "Truck 2" were $1224.25. b.. Uniform service was discussed. Everyone felt the service was a necessity due to the diesel, fuel, and grease that gets on the uniforms and should not be washed in home washing machines. c.. The Chelsea total highway 2008 budget was reported in their town report at $354,642.75. Vershire's highway budget proposal was $323, 010.00. Chelsea reports $110,000 in state aid vs. $50,000 in state aid for Vershire. No maintained road mileage was available for Chelsea for the discussion. d.. The Mountain School donation was voted by the Selectboard to the following: 2007 all to Capital Equipment Fund
2006 $15,000 to Capital Equipment, $7528 for copiers
2005 $15,000 to packer truck purchase, $5,700 for new heaters for garage
2004 all to Capital Equipment Fund
2003 all to Capital Equipment Fund
2002 all to new grader purchase
2001 all to Goose Green Road project
2000 all to Town Center addition
Naomi reported that the old Vershire Town School District account had been closed and the remaining funds were sent to Rivendell Interstate School District. The money will go into Vershire's revenue for 2008/09.
Bob's request for vacation time in November was approved by the Selectboard.
Richard made a motion to approve the minutes from Feb. 19, 2008 and to sign the orders. Syd seconded the motion. All were in favor.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
