Selectboard Meeting Minutes
February 19, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Richard L. Johnson, Vern Stone, Sydney Veysey
Bob Hodge, Naomi LaBarr
Guests: John MacKinnon, Strafford Road Foreman
John explained the details and benefits of the lease to buy program that the Town of Strafford uses to obtain their trucks and highway equipment. The Selectboard discussed using this type of program to purchase a new ton truck if approved, and agreed that it was the best option to lease a tractor for roadside mowing.
State transportation grants and garage facilities were discussed.
Bob noted that we may need to purchase additional sand soon. He will check prices on the sand and noted that trucking is no $68.50 per hour.
A question was raised and discussed about the possibility of once per week paychecks. No changes were made.
Richard made a motion to approve the minutes from Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, 2008 and to sign the orders. Syd seconded the motion. All were in favor.
The regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting to be held on March 4 was rescheduled for Monday, March 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
