Selectboard Meeting Minutes
February 5, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Richard L. Johnson, Vern Stone, Sydney Veysey
Bob Hodge, Naomi LaBarr
Guests: Debra Kingsbury
The handout on the budget that Debra had passed out on recycling day was discussed.
The Selectboard approved and signed a 12-month contract with the Orange County Sheriffs Department for $3,000 for services in Vershire.
The Selectboard will invite Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste District to a Selectboard meeting after Town Meeting to discuss the proposed landfill and other programs affecting Vershire.
The Selectboard approved and signed permission for Vital Communities to publish a Valley Quest program "Quest for the Raven" for town property off Eagle Hollow Rd.
Bob reported on the shortage of salt in the region.
Pagers for the road crew were discussed.
The Selectboard approved participation in Vermont League of Cities and Towns' safety and wellness Leader Program.
Syd made a motion to approve the minutes from Jan. 15. Richard made a motion to approve the minutes from Jan. 22. Vern seconded both motions. All were in favor. Richard made a motion to sign the orders with the addition of the VT Fire Extinguisher invoice and addition of payroll for the recycling coordinator for last month. Vern seconded the motion. All were in favor.
The Selectboard signed the annual highway mileage certificate with no changes, noting that research on the ancient roads may affect the certificate next year.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
